I titled this group of blogs as collection for a reason. As my stock journey continued, I noticed where I got the love for trading stocks. Can you guess? Before scrolling down, take a guess at what could influence someone to love "trading" stocks.

The answer:
Pokémon. When I was young, I collected Pokémon, yugioh and magic the gathering. I collected because I loved the game and the artwork. I never thought about how much a card could be worth monetarily. As I got older and spent time with new people that played the game, I learned that certain cards retained value. That these shiny things made of paper and cardboard are worth money, lot of money.
Now for the uninitiated, these cards are worth money based on two things: scarcity and usefulness. Each box of cards you buy has a small chance of having a very rare card (alternate artwork). As there are less copies of those cards made, the price for one is higher than the others. An example would be a common card found in many packs of cards may be worth 10 cents, while an alternate artwork card can be worth up to $1000 depending on the card, scarcity and demand. Usefulness is how important the card is competitively. Now if a card is both scarce and useful, the price can be very expensive for the regular version.
So, what does this all have to do with stock trading? I learned at a young age the basics of supply and demand because of a trading card game. Stocks are not much different. Stay tuned for "A collection Part 3."
